The summer of 2016 was the last summer that I lived at my parents’ house. They live on a large piece of property in the country side, so I spent a great deal of my free time outdoors in nature. One day I noticed that there was some milkweed growing in the dried up field next to our house, and that it was always attracting butterflies. So, I grabbed my camera and decided to get some shots of the insects there.
I went back multiple days in a row to check if there were any butterflies there, and there were always swallowtails. I made it my goal to wait until I saw a monarch butterfly, and after a week or so it finally happened! I had a great sense of accomplishment after being able to photograph this beautiful butterfly and the other insects that fed off of the milkweed all summer.
